Pre-Loved Jewelry is in Our DNA

The story of Yates & Co. Jewelers began in 1988, when Ron Yates opened California Coin & Jewelry, a shop that mainly purchased gold coins and unwanted karat gold jewelry. Ron and his wife Mechelle gained expertise in evaluating gold and diamond jewelry at its wholesale value.

The majority of the gold jewelry was melted down for its scrap gold value. But occasionally Ron encountered some beautiful and unique vintage jewelry pieces that were worth much more than that. Some of these pieces were vintage treasures that had been passed down through generations.

Initially, the Yates family would wholesale out most of the diamond jewelry they purchased. But Ron soon realized that he would be providing a valuable service to local customers by letting them know about the amazing deals they could get by purchasing pre-loved antique, vintage, and estate jewelry. Eventually, the main focus of the business changed, and Yates & Co Jewelers was born.
