These vintage diamond earrings are set in a buttercup setting and crafted in 14k white gold. The buttercup setting first came on the jewelry scene in the late Victorian era, and were popular for 60 or more years thereafter.
These are set with 1/4ct diamonds each, for a total weight of about 1/2 ct. Each diamond is between 4.0 - 4.1 mm in diameter. The diamonds are 'transitional cut', which is the type of diamond cut typically cut after the old european and the modern round brilliant. These were cut in the 1950s.
The diamond quality is very nice bright white. Clarity is SI1 or better and color is G-H.
