Gorgeous Edwardian Platinum Ring
You will get lost staring into this gorgeous royal blue sapphire ring. A very fine asscher cut, natural blue sapphire is bezel set. The sapphire 5.05 x 5.75mm, weighs 1.26ct. It is gemmy! It's very hard to capture the true color with photography and post on the web. Guaranteed, you will love the richness of the blue much better in person. And the clarity of the stone is superb, at VS clarity.
When we purchased this ring from a Carmel, CA estate, the center stone was an emerald and heavily damaged. So we wanted to replace the center stone with another gemstone that was as beautiful as the ring is. The sapphire was just recently set into the ring. This sapphire is from a mine in northern Madagascar that produces very rich blue sapphires.
On either side of the velvet blue sapphire are two Old European cut diamonds. Each being at least .15ct, VS clarity and H-I color. The high crowns on these Old European cut diamonds adds to the wonderful character.
There are also twenty (20) single cut diamonds sprinkled though out the ring. These accent diamonds are VS1 to I1 in clarity and nice white H-I in color. Estimated total weight of the single cuts is .34ctw.
This ring from the Edwardian period, about 1902-1910.
Ring is a size 4.0, and weighs 4.5 grams. You won't find another sapphire ring like this again. Don't miss out.
