Antique Seed Pearl & Handpainted Cartouche Ring.

Over 100 years old, probably from the late 1800s, this hand made ring was made in Europe.  Crafted in 14 gold and features a beautiful hand painted cartouche.

Notice the eye pleasing pastel colors, hand painted in enamel.  The scene depicted is from an innocent bygone era.  A young boy, in clothing contemporary of his time and locale, playing a lute.  A lute is a stringed instrument, forefather of the guitar, that was often featured in works of art.

The sides are accented with seed pearls, which really adds to the beauty, dont you think? Did you notice the tooling designs in the gold top?  A nice example of early milgrain work.  We also love the filigree gold accents on the sides.  Might those be grape and vine clusters?

That young boy, and his family, lived in simpler times: before the world erupted into its first World War, before the advent of modern technology, the pressures of modern life. Gazing at this beautiful piece and meditating on how life was like back then, evokes feelings of peace and tranquility.

Truly one of a kind, before jewelry was made in batches, each piece was unique.   Oh, the stories this piece could tell, if it could only talk.

This unique treasure is a size 10, but can be easily sized down for you.
