The diamond is a doozy - 3.01ct round brilliant laboratory grown, with G color, VS2 clarity and Ideal Cut. This is why it sparkles like no tomorrow. The color is "G", which is a bright white. VS2 clarity means you won't see anything in that diamond without a microscope and trained eyes. The Ideal Cut ensures the diamond produces the maximum sparkle (light return) possible. It's just gorgeous.
For comparison purposes, if this center diamond was a earth mined one, you would be paying about $70,000 for the diamond alone. There is no visual, physical or chemical difference between the two. But there is about $60,000 price difference!
We hand-made the ring to fit this diamond. The head is platinum, so never any "yellowing" that happens with white gold. The shank is rich 18K yellow gold, with G color / VS clarity diamonds in the mounting. The mounting has a nice solid feel to it, weighing 4.7 grams. The side diamonds in the ring are earth mined, F color, VS1 clarity and total .43ctw.
