Handmade in 14K yellow gold and featuring a natural 5mm light purple star sapphire. Inspired by 2000-year-old Etruscan jewelry designs.
The focal point of this beautiful ring is the mesmerizing star sapphire. This cabochon-cut gem exhibits a whiteish ‘star’ in natural daylight. This is caused by a natural phenomenon called asterism. Asterism occurs when a sapphire (or another gemstone) contains inclusions of tiny, needle-like crystals, typically of the mineral rutile, arranged in a specific pattern. These rutile inclusions are aligned so that when light hits the stone's surface, it reflects off these inclusions, creating a star-shaped pattern.
The ring is 2mm wide with a hammered texture. A perfect ring that would look great when stacked. Mix and match with gold bands. It will look terrific!
