Beautiful vintage 14K rose gold, diamond and ruby watch.  Perfect for the lady who appreciates fine jewelry by a bygone era.  This classic beauty is from the 1940s, and the style is considered 'Retro'.

Retro styles often used rose gold, or red gold as it was sometimes called.  It was the big trend during the 1940s.  The use of copper as an alloy to the pure gold allowed the reddish hue.  The watch case and bracelet are both 14K rose gold.

The Retro style also incorparated snake chains (as is on this watch) for bracelets and necklaces during this period.  Designs were rectangualr, and geometric.  Many jewelry pieces would pair diamonds with other gemstones.  This watch features these design elements.

The case measures 1/2" wide by 1 1/4" long (from ruby to ruby).   There are four natural round diamonds, total weight about .08ctw.  There are two square cut rubies measuring about 2.3mm, total weight about .20ctw.

This watch was made by HOMIS, and is also printed on the dial.  The Homis Watch Co was the creation of Oiser Schymansky in the 1920s.  They made fine timepieces in Switzerland until the 1970s.

The movement is a manual wind type.  No batteries here!  It is a high grade 21 jewel movement by Enicar Watch Co. in Switzerland.   We had our watchmaker clean the movement and it keeps time.

The watch measures 7 1/4" long.  However, there is a "ladder" added near the clasp that could be removed, bringing the length to 6 5/8" long.

This beautiful vintage piece is in great condition.  Besides having the movement cleaned, we replaced the crystal so it's nice and unscratched.  We lightly polished the case and bracelet, but just barely.  It presents in very good condition.

Don't miss out on this one.  You'll not find another one.
