Vintage Lady Elgin watch, circa 1951. This beautiful timepiece is crafted in solid 14K white gold and adorned with natural diamonds.
The case and the bracelet are 14K white gold. There are eight round single cut diamonds on the case, four on the top and four on the bottom. The bracelet has twelve round brilliant diamonds, six on either side of the watch. These are approximately .06ct - .07ct each. There is some milgrain detail around the edges of each link. The estimated total diamond weight is .50ctw.
The bottom links are set with square-shaped blue sapphires, most likely synthetic sapphires, as this was typical.
The watch length is 6 1/8" long. The case and the bracelet (minus the movement) weigh 14.9 grams.
The movement is manual wind 19 jeweled. It does run now, but mechanical watches need periodic servicing (like anything mechanical). We have not tested how accurate the timekeeping is; it might run a bit fast or slow. During servicing, a watchmaker will adjust it.
This would make a lovely addition to your vintage jewelry collection. Each year these vintage treasures are harder to find as many have been scrapped out.
